Dear Doc,

I'm writing to thank you and your organization the MISSING CHILDREN INVESTIGATION CENTER. I'm sorry it took me so long to write, but as you know since you got my children back things have been very hectic.

"Doc" what a perfect and beautiful name, you were like a surgeon doing a delicate operation, and the patient lived all due to you and you alone.

How can a mother thank you enough for her and the lives of her children, for putting my family's lives back together. How can I possibly say in just words, the gratefulness and love, my heart feels towards you. Everyone I spoke to from the Mexican, American, Guatemalan, Nicaraguan, to the Salvadorian governments, as well as the FBI, DEA, Federales, Police, Policia all said there was nothing they could do to assist or even seemed to care.

Missing children organizations other than a very few were unable to assist me, a couple of organizations indicated their interest but did not have much ability in Central or South America, however organizations such as "Para Los Ninos", "Agencia de Ninos Perdidos", "PARENT", "The Polly Klaas Foundation" were very helpful and some had excellent websites and information that all led me to you. I must have spoke to 2 dozen organizations in the U.S., Mexico and Central America, and EVERY one suggested I get in touch with you Doc (you have quite a reputation!).

And those "private organizations" .... whew what a bunch, I was quoted by so called professional organizations, commandos, mercenaries, and "Recovery Specialists" (everybody is a specialist) they wanted everything from $5,000.00 "retainer" to over a $100,000.00. As if I have that kind of money!!! Some of them were quite scary! They all said they would go in and get my children back "at any cost" ... the cost of what? my and my children's lives??? or cost of money in their pockets. All they seemed to talk about is what great "warriors" they were!

I felt hopeless and alone, very alone, and then along came Doc Schloegel ..... When I first met you, I was a little sceptical, with your physical disablity (Multiple Sclerosis?) and on your cane, I thought how can he do this??? I soon learned it's not the disability I needed to look at, it's the mind and experience I needed. If you didn't see your self as disabled, why should I?

You Sir Doc and your organization were a God send, you did not even discuss money!, you were truly concerned about me and my children. You asked some very pointed questions and helped me get organized, get all my "ducks in a row" as you put it. I started reading books on abduction and in one chapter of a book I read, I laughed out loud, as I absolutely, positively know who the "a confidential source" is, I recognized you as soon as I read that chapter you are definitely in the HERO category.

I know your organization does not have much money and what we could not raise in fund raising, I'm sure a lot of the money came out of your own pocket. I promise to dedicate myself to helping you and your organization as I can. You invested in me, now, when I get settled I would like to invest in you.

You made no "grandiose promises" you said you would do your best. Little did I know that your best was unbelievably incredible, your modesty, honesty and love for your fellow man and for your work is a credit to you unparalleled in the annals of modern history. You made all my dreams come true and even more!! not only did you get us all back against incredible odds, you have gone as far as setting us up in a safe environment where the likelyhood of "him" finding us again is greatly reduced.

When the time came, without any fanfare, you and I ever so quietly slipped into the country, (I felt like I was participating in a spy movie) and then you waited and watched, then when you felt the time was right (By the way, you have the patience of Job, and I was about to bust wide open but you kept me calm), and before I actually realized it had happened, my children were in my arms, hugging and kissing and we were all crying, and you Sir Doc worked your "plan" like a charm (LOL more or less) and we were out of the area.

A while back I read in a news article, about you being compared to the Colonel John Smith of the TV Show the A-Team, I can see why. :-) Your e/mail name: "GlobeRanger, how appropriate".

My x-husband was good to his word in "trying" to kill me, you, the children and anyone connected to the the rescue. He did everything in his power to stop us, but his "compound" and he and his "black hearted demon minions" were no match for you, Thank God. Then we were out of the area, then out of the country then to another country and then to home and he was left stranded and fuming!!!! God you are something else. You gave him NO QUARTER and no options!!!

To anyone in a similar situation I will strongly recommend you. I again express my deepest heartfelt gratitude, you are as everyone said a "white knight", well Sir Doc, your armor is a little shinier and I gladly tie my ribbon to your lance to carry into some distant battle.

Doc,

This is just another of our little ways of saying think you. We know how many cases you field on a monthly basis, but we appreciate how you and you team came to our rescue. Having worked with you on our case over the last few months, we truly understand what you have to go through on a daily basis.

After my wife's ex husband took the children to his country, we felt totally helpless until we met you. We were out of resources, out of money, out of contact, out of our minds with worry and dread and out of hope!

We had contacted everyone from the State department to private investigators to international "recovery agents". The government said it could not be done and the "recovery agents and teams" wanted large amounts of money that we did not have.

But you gave us hope, said don't worry about money, and then through a series of fund raisers you helped raise the money we needed for the recovery and it did not cost us a single penny. Then you did the impossible by recovering our children against all odds.

As you well know the father said he would kill anyone trying to get them back, and then kill the children. We were petrified with fear! But now our children are back in our arms, due solely to YOUR incredible efforts.
